How To Uninstall telnetd On Debian 7

To uninstall telnetd just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just telnetd

The telnet serverDebian 7.0net0.17-36
sudo apt-get remove telnetd

This will remove just the telnetd package itself.

Uninstall telnetd and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove telnetd

This will remove the telnetd package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for telnetd then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge telnetd

Or similarly, like this telnetd

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove telnetd
