How To Uninstall textedit.app On Debian 7

To uninstall textedit.app just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just textedit.app

Text editor for GNUstepDebian 7.0gnustep4.0+20061029-3.4
sudo apt-get remove textedit.app

This will remove just the textedit.app package itself.

Uninstall textedit.app and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove textedit.app

This will remove the textedit.app package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for textedit.app then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge textedit.app

Or similarly, like this textedit.app

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove textedit.app
