How To Uninstall tmux On Debian 7

To uninstall tmux just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just tmux

terminal multiplexerDebian 7.0admin1.6-2
sudo apt-get remove tmux

This will remove just the tmux package itself.

Uninstall tmux and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove tmux

This will remove the tmux package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for tmux then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge tmux

Or similarly, like this tmux

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove tmux
