To uninstall tomcat7-examples just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just tomcat7-examples

Servlet and JSP engine -- example web applicationsDebian 7.0java7.0.28-4+deb7u4
sudo apt-get remove tomcat7-examples

This will remove just the tomcat7-examples package itself.

Uninstall tomcat7-examples and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove tomcat7-examples

This will remove the tomcat7-examples package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for tomcat7-examples then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge tomcat7-examples

Or similarly, like this tomcat7-examples

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove tomcat7-examples
