How To Uninstall tomcat7 On Debian 7

To uninstall tomcat7 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just tomcat7

Servlet and JSP engineDebian 7.0java7.0.28-4+deb7u4
sudo apt-get remove tomcat7

This will remove just the tomcat7 package itself.

Uninstall tomcat7 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove tomcat7

This will remove the tomcat7 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for tomcat7 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge tomcat7

Or similarly, like this tomcat7

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove tomcat7
