How To Uninstall traceroute On Debian 7

To uninstall traceroute just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just traceroute

Traces the route taken by packets over an IPv4/IPv6 networkDebian 7.0net1:2.0.18-3
sudo apt-get remove traceroute

This will remove just the traceroute package itself.

Uninstall traceroute and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove traceroute

This will remove the traceroute package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for traceroute then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge traceroute

Or similarly, like this traceroute

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove traceroute
