How To Uninstall tree On Debian 7

To uninstall tree just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just tree

displays directory tree, in colorDebian 7.0utils1.6.0-1
sudo apt-get remove tree

This will remove just the tree package itself.

Uninstall tree and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove tree

This will remove the tree package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for tree then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge tree

Or similarly, like this tree

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove tree
