How To Uninstall treeviewx On Debian 7

To uninstall treeviewx just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just treeviewx

Displays and prints phylogenetic treesDebian 7.0science0.5.1+20100823-1
sudo apt-get remove treeviewx

This will remove just the treeviewx package itself.

Uninstall treeviewx and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove treeviewx

This will remove the treeviewx package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for treeviewx then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge treeviewx

Or similarly, like this treeviewx

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove treeviewx
