How To Uninstall ttf-opensymbol On Debian 7

To uninstall ttf-opensymbol just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just ttf-opensymbol

transitional package for fonts-opensymbolDebian 7.0fonts2:102.2+LibO3.5.4+dfsg2-0+deb7u6
sudo apt-get remove ttf-opensymbol

This will remove just the ttf-opensymbol package itself.

Uninstall ttf-opensymbol and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove ttf-opensymbol

This will remove the ttf-opensymbol package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for ttf-opensymbol then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge ttf-opensymbol

Or similarly, like this ttf-opensymbol

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove ttf-opensymbol
