How To Uninstall tzdata-java On Debian 7

To uninstall tzdata-java just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just tzdata-java

time zone and daylight-saving time data for use by java runtimesDebian 7.0java2016d-0+deb7u1
sudo apt-get remove tzdata-java

This will remove just the tzdata-java package itself.

Uninstall tzdata-java and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove tzdata-java

This will remove the tzdata-java package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for tzdata-java then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge tzdata-java

Or similarly, like this tzdata-java

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove tzdata-java
