How To Uninstall update-inetd On Debian 7

To uninstall update-inetd just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just update-inetd

inetd configuration file updaterDebian 7.0admin4.43
sudo apt-get remove update-inetd

This will remove just the update-inetd package itself.

Uninstall update-inetd and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove update-inetd

This will remove the update-inetd package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for update-inetd then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge update-inetd

Or similarly, like this update-inetd

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove update-inetd
