How To Uninstall tar-doc On Debian 7

To uninstall tar-doc just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just tar-doc

documentation for the tar packageDebian 7.0non-free/doc1.26-2
sudo apt-get remove tar-doc

This will remove just the tar-doc package itself.

Uninstall tar-doc and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove tar-doc

This will remove the tar-doc package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for tar-doc then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge tar-doc

Or similarly, like this tar-doc

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove tar-doc
