How To Uninstall xmp On Kali Linux 2017.1

To uninstall xmp just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just xmp

module player supporting AWE32, GUS, and software-mixing AWE cards xmp takes advantage of the OSS sequencer to play modules with virtually no system load. Using software mixing, xmp plays at sampling rates up to 48 kHz in mono or stereo, 8 or 16 bits, signed or unsigned, little or big endian samples with 32 bit linear interpolation. xmp currently supports more than 40 module formats.Kali Linux 2017.1sound4.1.0-1
sudo apt-get remove xmp

This will remove just the xmp package itself.

Uninstall xmp and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove xmp

This will remove the xmp package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for xmp then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge xmp

Or similarly, like this xmp

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove xmp
