How To Uninstall xsettingsd On Kali Linux 2017.1

To uninstall xsettingsd just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just xsettingsd

Provides settings to X11 applications It is intended to be small, fast, and minimally dependent on other libraries. It can serve as an alternative to gnome-settings-daemon for users who are not using the GNOME desktop environment but who still run GTK+ applications and want to configure things such as themes, font antialiasing/hinting, and UI sound effects.Kali Linux 2017.1x110.0.20150615+2+gb4999f5e-1
sudo apt-get remove xsettingsd

This will remove just the xsettingsd package itself.

Uninstall xsettingsd and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove xsettingsd

This will remove the xsettingsd package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for xsettingsd then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge xsettingsd

Or similarly, like this xsettingsd

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove xsettingsd
