To uninstall xsettingsd just follow these instructions.
sudo apt-get remove xsettingsd
This will remove just the xsettingsd package itself.
sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove xsettingsd
This will remove the xsettingsd package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.
If you also want to delete your local/config files for xsettingsd then this will work.
sudo apt-get purge xsettingsd
Or similarly, like this xsettingsd
sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove xsettingsd
