How To Uninstall xtail On Kali Linux 2017.1

To uninstall xtail just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just xtail

like "tail -f", but works on truncated files, directories, more a bunch of files at once. It notices if a file is truncated and starts from the beginning. You can specify both filenames and directories on the command line. If you specify a directory, it watches all the files in that directory. It will notice when new files are created (and start watching them) or when old files are deleted (and stop watching them).Kali Linux 2017.1utils2.1-5.1+b1
sudo apt-get remove xtail

This will remove just the xtail package itself.

Uninstall xtail and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove xtail

This will remove the xtail package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for xtail then this will work.

Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge xtail

Or similarly, like this xtail

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove xtail
