To uninstall xtail just follow these instructions.
sudo apt-get remove xtail
This will remove just the xtail package itself.
sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove xtail
This will remove the xtail package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.
If you also want to delete your local/config files for xtail then this will work.
sudo apt-get purge xtail
Or similarly, like this xtail
sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove xtail

|Description||like "tail -f", but works on truncated files, directories, more a bunch of files at once. It notices if a file is truncated and starts from the beginning. You can specify both filenames and directories on the command line. If you specify a directory, it watches all the files in that directory. It will notice when new files are created (and start watching them) or when old files are deleted (and stop watching them).|
