To uninstall backupchecker just follow these instructions.
sudo apt-get remove backupchecker
This will remove just the backupchecker package itself.
sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove backupchecker
This will remove the backupchecker package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.
If you also want to delete your local/config files for backupchecker then this will work.
sudo apt-get purge backupchecker
Or similarly, like this backupchecker
sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove backupchecker
