To uninstall hdf5-tools just follow these instructions.
sudo apt-get remove hdf5-tools
This will remove just the hdf5-tools package itself.
sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove hdf5-tools
This will remove the hdf5-tools package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.
If you also want to delete your local/config files for hdf5-tools then this will work.
sudo apt-get purge hdf5-tools
Or similarly, like this hdf5-tools
sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove hdf5-tools
