How To Uninstall modemmanager On Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

To uninstall modemmanager just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just modemmanager

D-Bus service for managing modemsUbuntu 14.04 LTSnet1.0.0-2ubuntu1
sudo apt-get remove modemmanager

This will remove just the modemmanager package itself.

Uninstall modemmanager and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove modemmanager

This will remove the modemmanager package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for modemmanager then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge modemmanager

Or similarly, like this modemmanager

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove modemmanager
