How To Uninstall mono-devel On Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

To uninstall mono-devel just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mono-devel

Mono development toolsUbuntu 14.04 LTSdevel3.2.8+dfsg-4ubuntu1
sudo apt-get remove mono-devel

This will remove just the mono-devel package itself.

Uninstall mono-devel and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mono-devel

This will remove the mono-devel package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mono-devel then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mono-devel

Or similarly, like this mono-devel

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mono-devel
