How To Uninstall mame On Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

To uninstall mame just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mame

Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator (MAME)Ubuntu 14.04 LTSmultiverse/games0.152-0ubuntu2
sudo apt-get remove mame

This will remove just the mame package itself.

Uninstall mame and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mame

This will remove the mame package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mame then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mame

Or similarly, like this mame

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mame
