How To Uninstall mailfilter On Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

To uninstall mailfilter just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mailfilter

Program that filters your incoming e-mail to help remove spamUbuntu 14.04 LTSuniverse/mail0.8.2-4
sudo apt-get remove mailfilter

This will remove just the mailfilter package itself.

Uninstall mailfilter and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mailfilter

This will remove the mailfilter package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mailfilter then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mailfilter

Or similarly, like this mailfilter

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mailfilter
