How To Uninstall mailutils-pop3d On Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

To uninstall mailutils-pop3d just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mailutils-pop3d

GNU mailutils-based POP3 DaemonUbuntu 14.04 LTSuniverse/net1:2.99.98-1.1
sudo apt-get remove mailutils-pop3d

This will remove just the mailutils-pop3d package itself.

Uninstall mailutils-pop3d and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mailutils-pop3d

This will remove the mailutils-pop3d package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mailutils-pop3d then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mailutils-pop3d

Or similarly, like this mailutils-pop3d

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mailutils-pop3d
