How To Uninstall maptool On Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

To uninstall maptool just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just maptool

Converts OpenStreetMap maps to NavitUbuntu 14.04 LTSuniverse/misc0.5.0~svn5643+dfsg.1-1ubuntu1
sudo apt-get remove maptool

This will remove just the maptool package itself.

Uninstall maptool and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove maptool

This will remove the maptool package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for maptool then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge maptool

Or similarly, like this maptool

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove maptool
