How To Uninstall mdns-scan On Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

To uninstall mdns-scan just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mdns-scan

Scan for mDNS/DNS-SD services published on the local networkUbuntu 14.04 LTSuniverse/utils0.5-1
sudo apt-get remove mdns-scan

This will remove just the mdns-scan package itself.

Uninstall mdns-scan and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mdns-scan

This will remove the mdns-scan package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mdns-scan then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mdns-scan

Or similarly, like this mdns-scan

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mdns-scan
