How To Uninstall mecab-jumandic-utf8 On Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

To uninstall mecab-jumandic-utf8 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mecab-jumandic-utf8

Juman dictionary encoded in UTF-8 compiled for MecabUbuntu 14.04 LTSuniverse/misc5.1+20070304-3
sudo apt-get remove mecab-jumandic-utf8

This will remove just the mecab-jumandic-utf8 package itself.

Uninstall mecab-jumandic-utf8 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mecab-jumandic-utf8

This will remove the mecab-jumandic-utf8 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mecab-jumandic-utf8 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mecab-jumandic-utf8

Or similarly, like this mecab-jumandic-utf8

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mecab-jumandic-utf8
