How To Uninstall mecab-naist-jdic On Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

To uninstall mecab-naist-jdic just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mecab-naist-jdic

free Japanese Dictionaries for mecab (replacement of mecab-ipadic)Ubuntu 14.04 LTSuniverse/misc0.6.3.b-20111013-5
sudo apt-get remove mecab-naist-jdic

This will remove just the mecab-naist-jdic package itself.

Uninstall mecab-naist-jdic and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mecab-naist-jdic

This will remove the mecab-naist-jdic package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mecab-naist-jdic then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mecab-naist-jdic

Or similarly, like this mecab-naist-jdic

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mecab-naist-jdic
