How To Uninstall mimefilter On Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

To uninstall mimefilter just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just mimefilter

Strips some unwanted MIME parts out of a MIME message.Ubuntu 14.04 LTSuniverse/mail1.7+nmu1
sudo apt-get remove mimefilter

This will remove just the mimefilter package itself.

Uninstall mimefilter and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove mimefilter

This will remove the mimefilter package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for mimefilter then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge mimefilter

Or similarly, like this mimefilter

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove mimefilter
