How To Uninstall iptables On Ubuntu 15.04

To uninstall iptables just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just iptables

administration tools for packet filtering and NATUbuntu 15.04net1.4.21-2ubuntu2
sudo apt-get remove iptables

This will remove just the iptables package itself.

Uninstall iptables and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove iptables

This will remove the iptables package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for iptables then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge iptables

Or similarly, like this iptables

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove iptables
