How To Uninstall unity-scope-mediascanner2 On Ubuntu 15.04

To uninstall unity-scope-mediascanner2 just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just unity-scope-mediascanner2

Media scanner scope for UnityUbuntu 15.04universe/gnome0.2+15.04.20150411-0ubuntu1
sudo apt-get remove unity-scope-mediascanner2

This will remove just the unity-scope-mediascanner2 package itself.

Uninstall unity-scope-mediascanner2 and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove unity-scope-mediascanner2

This will remove the unity-scope-mediascanner2 package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for unity-scope-mediascanner2 then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge unity-scope-mediascanner2

Or similarly, like this unity-scope-mediascanner2

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove unity-scope-mediascanner2
