How To Uninstall tomcat8-admin On Ubuntu 16.10

To uninstall tomcat8-admin just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just tomcat8-admin

Apache Tomcat 8 - Servlet and JSP engine -- admin web applicationsUbuntu 16.10java8.0.37-1
sudo apt-get remove tomcat8-admin

This will remove just the tomcat8-admin package itself.

Uninstall tomcat8-admin and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove tomcat8-admin

This will remove the tomcat8-admin package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for tomcat8-admin then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge tomcat8-admin

Or similarly, like this tomcat8-admin

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove tomcat8-admin
