How To Uninstall erlang-cowboy On Ubuntu 16.10

To uninstall erlang-cowboy just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just erlang-cowboy

Cowboy is a small, fast and modular HTTP server written in ErlangUbuntu 16.10universe/devel2.0.0~pre.1+dfsg1-2
sudo apt-get remove erlang-cowboy

This will remove just the erlang-cowboy package itself.

Uninstall erlang-cowboy and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove erlang-cowboy

This will remove the erlang-cowboy package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for erlang-cowboy then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge erlang-cowboy

Or similarly, like this erlang-cowboy

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove erlang-cowboy
