How To Uninstall r-bioc-rsamtools On Ubuntu 16.10

To uninstall r-bioc-rsamtools just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just r-bioc-rsamtools

GNU R binary alignment (BAM), variant call (BCF), or tabix file importUbuntu 16.10universe/gnu-r1.24.0-1
sudo apt-get remove r-bioc-rsamtools

This will remove just the r-bioc-rsamtools package itself.

Uninstall r-bioc-rsamtools and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove r-bioc-rsamtools

This will remove the r-bioc-rsamtools package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for r-bioc-rsamtools then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge r-bioc-rsamtools

Or similarly, like this r-bioc-rsamtools

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove r-bioc-rsamtools
