How To Uninstall r-cran-mapdata On Ubuntu 16.10

To uninstall r-cran-mapdata just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just r-cran-mapdata

GNU R support for producing geographic maps (supplemental data)Ubuntu 16.10universe/math2.2-6-1
sudo apt-get remove r-cran-mapdata

This will remove just the r-cran-mapdata package itself.

Uninstall r-cran-mapdata and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove r-cran-mapdata

This will remove the r-cran-mapdata package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for r-cran-mapdata then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge r-cran-mapdata

Or similarly, like this r-cran-mapdata

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove r-cran-mapdata
