How To Uninstall tar-scripts On Ubuntu 16.10

To uninstall tar-scripts just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just tar-scripts

optional scripts for GNU version of the tar archiving utilityUbuntu 16.10universe/utils1.29b-1
sudo apt-get remove tar-scripts

This will remove just the tar-scripts package itself.

Uninstall tar-scripts and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove tar-scripts

This will remove the tar-scripts package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for tar-scripts then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge tar-scripts

Or similarly, like this tar-scripts

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove tar-scripts
