How To Uninstall tomcat8-user On Ubuntu 16.10

To uninstall tomcat8-user just follow these instructions.

Uninstall just tomcat8-user

Apache Tomcat 8 - Servlet and JSP engine -- tools to create user instancesUbuntu 16.10universe/java8.0.37-1
sudo apt-get remove tomcat8-user

This will remove just the tomcat8-user package itself.

Uninstall tomcat8-user and its dependencies

sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove tomcat8-user

This will remove the tomcat8-user package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed.

Purging your config/data too

If you also want to delete your local/config files for tomcat8-user then this will work.

 Caution! Purged config/data can not be restored by reinstalling the package.
sudo apt-get purge tomcat8-user

Or similarly, like this tomcat8-user

sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove tomcat8-user
